Jupiter in Leo is a himbo
Hasan Piker, the leading left-wing Twitch streamer, has Jupiter in Leo. Jupiter is like a cheerful and affectionate guy at the gym—ripped af—who hands you his weights and cheers as you lift.” When I shared this with a client, she told me “Oh so Jupiter is a himbo.” I might as well have been describing Hasan. Incidentally, Hasan has the Sun, Mercury and Jupiter in Leo.
Jupiter is the planet of faith, optimism and generosity. Jupiter expands whatever it touches so Jupiter can be the giver, the forgiver, or the gambler. In Leo, Jupiter magnifies expressiveness, honesty, authenticity, conviction, self-assuredness and pride. Here, Jupiter is a megaphone. What dwells within you craves expression. Here, Jupiter is ready for the audience. Or it’s a Jupiter that can expect to face an audience, ready or not.
Leo is the sun’s domicile, its home sign. It’s a fixed sign, so it’s about loyalty and long games. Like an artist or craftsperson committed to the 10,000-plus hours it takes to truly excel at their chosen form, Leo is capable of a dedication people don’t expect from a sign that is sometimes dismissed as merely attention-seeking. Leos often land in the spotlight because of the many unseen hours they’ve devoted to trying, failing and getting back up. Tinkering and testing. Cultivating supportive networks and forming lasting bonds. Leos come off as proud peacocks because they are proud of the work they’ve put into looking really good and/or being really good at something, so good it’s impossible not to notice. Leo energy can feel annoying to people who feel stuck in the role of the audience because they don’t see the work that went into becoming the person they only see from a curated, safe distance.
Jupiter in Leo reminds us that shiny hypervisible superstars are only able to light up the world because of years of invisible effort and invisible support. Sometimes actors’ heights in movies are staged to suit conventions; we don’t see that they’re standing on boxes to look taller. Glossy magazine photo shoots only show the “afters,” never the “befores,” never the lighting set-up, stylist pins, retouching.
Leo is a masculine sign—the fancy trad astro word for this is ‘diurnal’ or ‘of the day. There’s something unsubtle and unsophisticated about diurnal signs. Unlike Scorpio, a fixed feminine/nocturnal water sign associated with secrecy and privacy, Leo’s desires are clearly on display. Leo wants to be noticed. Loved. Valued. Leo also wants this to happen on his own terms, and to be liked for the right reasons. You can get notoriety from a viral sex tape but that’s not what Leo wants. Leo would rather become well-known for being hot, charming, creative, talented, and having something to say.
This once-in-12-year Jupiter transit through Leo magnifies this desire and amplifies the opportunity for this desire to find a stage.
