How I learnt astrology: In addition to booking regular birth chart readings, I learnt astrology using professional traditional astrological books, seminars, workshops and learning resources by the field’s leading researchers: Chris Brennan, Demetra George, Alice Sparkly Kat, KirahStrology, John Frawley, Kelly Surtees, Sam Reynolds and others. In 2021, I was a competitively selected mentee under the Association For Astrological Networking (AFAN)’s inaugural business mentorship program for emerging astrologers around the world.

Who I work with: Since 2020 I’ve given professional birth chart readings to clients from all over the world. I’ve collaborated with galleries, literary launches, team building, corporate winter warmers and bespoke private events. My practice supports First Nations communities, Palestinians and their supporters, people of colour, people with disabilities, young people, immigrants, sex workers, and gender-non-conforming and trans people of all ages, religions and cultural backgrounds. I’ve served clients in their sixties and clients in their teens although a large majority of my clients are Australians like me within the millennial and Gen Z generational range.

Mode: All readings are done live online over Zoom, in the Melbourne time zone (Australian eastern time). Sessions outside advertised business hours may be accommodated for additional fees which we can discuss over e-mail. You can make a video and/or audio recording of the session for private use. Copies of the birth chart will be e-mailed to you after our session. At present I cannot offer written readings or home visits.

Our conversation centres your lived experience of your birth chart. I am a translator, facilitator and listener, in a confidential space where you are free to talk about what matters most. My style is poetic not predictive, collaborative not pedantic, dwelling with contradiction, refusing stuck-ness and the gridlock of absolutes. I don’t do fortune-telling, I gently say no to anyone who asks for a tell-me-my-future reading. The divination process fails when someone demands to be told what to do rather than be led by the truth of their own desire, no matter how scary. In my experience as an astrology client and as a consulting astrologer, the best readings are not monologues, they are dialogues that are open, intentional, honest and trust-based.

What type of astrology reading are you after?

A 30-minute birth chart reading is an affordable and efficient way to access a live professional astrologer in Melbourne. If you’re considering a career change, facing challenges in a relationship, rethinking your approach to study or health, feeling overwhelmed by world events, a 30-minute reading can help shift the vibe. Some questions you can ask: why is it hard for me to make friends? What types of jobs might be suited for me that I haven’t considered? What does being born under an eclipse mean? What can I learn about myself from my Rising Sign? Quick-paced with enough time for a back and forth, this reading is great if you have a short attention span or have a full day. The beauty of the 30-minute reading is you can treat yourself to this offering on a regular basis: some aim for monthly half-hour check-ins but every three to six months is a good ballpark.

A 60-minute (one-hour) birth chart reading is ideal for a more in-depth look at the birth chart, perhaps to learn how your birth chart reflects your personality, motivations, strengths and weaknesses, and relationship dynamics. This is great for people who occasionally google pop astrology or use free astrology apps but have never encountered their chart from a classical astrology perspective. It helps to start with some questions in mind: why do I end up in relationships with people who are good for me but continue chasing people who aren’t? Why is there a disconnect between my skills and my ability to get high-quality jobs? What does my chart say about my relationship patterns? How do I survive my Saturn return? How come I can’t relate to my sun sign? If you take a while to warm up to new people and need time to settle in, this is perfect for you.

A 90-minute (1.5-hour) birth chart reading is an intensive classical astrology reading that centres how your birth chart intersects with your lived experience. Heaps of time to explore cosmic placements in depth. It is always helpful to organise a reading with a few questions or intention to structure our time together. You wouldn’t go to a doctor saying “Tell me about my body.” You would definitely say “I’ve had a cold for two weeks and taking a few days off work has not helped” so the doctor knows what tests to run. This is an excellent time frame for a reading focussed on the first Saturn return, or an exploration of recent astrological events involving your Ascendant ruler, or a debrief about challenging recent transits. Given the amount of time, we can cover several topics emerging from your initial intention. The experience may feel open-ended and improvisational. Some value this as it takes them a while to warm up to new people or find the words to articulate their thoughts. Some benefit from multiple coffee, tea or toilet breaks. Some like to take in large volumes of new information slowly. Some need to chat about difficult stuff and it’s important to not rush as we tread challenging ground together. However, some people find it confronting to spend a lot of time sitting down and maintaining focus – if this is you, a shorter reading is more ideal.

A horary astrology reading (30-min) is a divinatory method—like tarot but with stars instead of cards. Instead of using your natal chart, I use the chart of the moment your query is communicated to me clearly. Your query has to be something that's urgent (high stakes) time-sensitive AND personal and you have to be prepared to accept the answer whether or not it's to your liking. Horary astrology is most potent when you are honest about the question that's in your heart right now. A question with a yes/no answer is especially suited for this. It is an astrology based on desire, most effective when you put a good faith enquiry into the universe. Whatever the outcome, improved self-knowledge and being in touch with your heart's desire in relation to this question is the best gift you give yourself in this engagement.

Maximum benefit occurs every time you’re clear about your needs, your curiosities and relevant information. Set up in a quiet place where you are alone and uninterrupted, with easy access to water/tea/coffee/toilet/meds. We can speed up or slow down as needed, take breaks, and adjust focus and scope as we go. If you have access needs, there is space to list them down on the booking form.

What to expect from a birth chart reading with me

Confidentiality: Your chart details, e-mails and anything you share in our sessions will never be shared beyond our private discussions. You can record video or audio of our session for your private personal use. Other people won’t know that you’ve come to see me for an astrology reading unless you tell them or unless you refer them to me, which is a choice you are most welcome to make.

Session structure: In most cases this is how a session unfolds: for those with zero classical astrology knowledge the reading starts with a walk through the sun, moon and rising sign using a classical astrology framework. The client then gets a choice: devote the rest of the session to going through each of the planetary placements, or zero in on selected themes (career, romance, health, family, etc). In cases where a client prefers a focussed reading about a specific question or set of concerns, we begin with an astrological approach to these queries. In the final moments there is a brief check in to see how it’s all sitting. Within 48 hours after the session, I e-mail you a copy of your birth chart from my professional astrology app. Sometimes there are seasons of unusually high busyness, in which case you’re welcome to ping me if I’ve not sent you your chart within that time. 

Contemporary classical astrology: My astrology practice applies Hellenistic astrology techniques to current problems. This practice focuses on the seven traditional planets (Moon, Mercury, Venus, Sun, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn). The chart is set up using whole sign houses and the tropical zodiac. I don’t only look at planets in signs, I look at planets as house rulers, using only traditional planetary rulerships. The outer planets Uranus, Neptune and Pluto are only explored when conjoined with or in major aspect to the ascendant ruler or a significant planet. Only major aspects are considered (conjunction, sextile, trine, square, opposition). The nodes of the moon are sometimes used when relevant to the intention of the reading, or if they are angular or close to the big three. Asteroids aside from Chiron are generally not examined. I don’t do predictive or deterministic astrology. Asking “What job should I do?” point blank is unhelpful. Asking “What does my chart say about skills I’m good at and industries I can thrive in?” could open up a conversation about how the sign and ruler of your tenth house orient you towards certain motivations, e.g., a fiery tenth house with a dignified ruler suggests an aptitude for roles that value expressiveness, high energy, an intense work pace, and charismatic leadership. This could mean running a removalist business, thriving as a barista or chef, or travelling the region as a professional comedian—depending on your skills and interests.

Accessibility:‍ ‍All sessions are priced in AUD and are processed through a secure payment gateway. I am a professional astrologer based in Melbourne, Australia and work during Australian Eastern time zone. All sessions are live face to face on Zoom. On my booking form, you will see my availability based on your time zone. Sessions booked through this form have automated e-mail reminders so you don’t miss our appointment. You can bring your support worker or legal guardian to these Zoom sessions if that’s helpful. Young people (under 21) get discounted 60-minute and 90-minute birth chart readings. Aboriginal people, Torres Strait Islander people and Palestinians can book a complimentary 30-minute reading. Outside these offerings I am unlikely to grant requests for discounts.

After-hours sessions: Those outside the Australian time zone or seeking after-hours appointments may still book a reading with me. If your preferred time is outside my usual working hours, contact me and let’s see what we can do. Additional fees apply to bookings outside my business hours.
