Angelita Biscotti develops site-specific performances, music, visual art, writing and astrology-themed participatory experiences that enable the sense of feeling witnessed and taken seriously, especially for those with precarious relationships to power. Angelita’s practice is attentive to the energies that accompany wanting and missing, hope and frustration, deferred satisfaction, and the relationship between private desires and public norms. Angelita’s multi-disciplinary work as a performer, composer, artist, astrologer and writer has been presented at Thailand Biennale (through Liquid Architecture), West Space Offsite, Seventh Gallery, Debris, Performance Review, Dancehouse, National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne Fringe, Footscray Community Arts, Visual Diary, 99% Gallery, Midsumma Festival, Darebin Fuse Festival, Radio Alhara, Cordite, Going Down Swinging, Overland, and more. Residencies and fellowships include the 2026-27 Bespoke program by Speak Percussion, 2024 MESS Professional Development, 2023 Seventh Gallery Studio Residency and 2022 Midsumma Pathways. In 2024 Angelita was shortlisted for the Woollahra Digital Literary Award (Poetry category). In 2022 Angelita conceptualised and performed a shibari-themed solo as part of Candy Bowers’s Green Room Award-winning cabaret TakeBack. In 2024 Angelita’s electronic score for Ebony Rattle’s critically acclaimed Winona was described in Nothing Ever Happens in Brisbane as “loud and abrasive without being overbearing… [whose] ability to navigate between the spectrum of intensity is enviable… reminiscent of Twin Peaks.” Angelita’s creative practice has received funding from the City of Darebin, City of Yarra, City of Maribyrnong, and the Australian RTP Scholarship.
