All that is solid melts into air

Karl Marx could have been talking about the 21 December 2020 Grand Conjunction of Jupiter (planet of higher vision and good fortune) and Saturn (planet of hard-earned wisdom) - together again in Air Sign Aquarius after 200 years of Earth Signs.

Marx is a Taurus (Earth) Sun, Moon, and North Node, all in the fourth house of home, hearth, heritage, & foundations. The walls around your bed. The roof above your head. The ground beneath your feet. Also - the means of production. The base that enables the superstructure. Matter. Historical materialism.

He is also an Aquarius (Air) Rising. His Aquarius Ascendant trines a happy Mercury in Gemini. It's no surprise his writing has inspired all kinds of revolution -- not all of which were liberating. The high expression of Aquarius is the humanitarian visionary. The shadow expression is the zealot, the dogmatist interventionist, the mercenary masquerading as a social justice warrior (think Final Season Daenerys Targaryen).

Jupiter in Aquarius is the breaker of chains, the smasher of patterns. Jupiter in Aquarius knows that if you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always gotten. Jupiter in Aquarius knows that giving up something unsuitable for you hurts a lot less in the long run than sticking with something that saps your will to live. Jupiter in Aquarius knows that standing up for yourself is a wonderful way to celebrate those like you. If they see you glorious, they know they too can be glorious.

Saturn in Aquarius questions the motives behind revolution. Is it really revolution, or is it just reaction? Is it motivated by genuine desire for universal transformation, or just a knee-jerk self-defense of a wounded ego? All rebels are rebels only in context. How innovative are you if your communities are filled with people saying the exact same things, shutting out everyone else who shows the slightest sign of difference, even if they might share your goals and values?

Marx’s chart has Aquarius ascending, Saturn is the traditional ruler of the chart, and the steersman of the life. It may be argued that the revolution he dreamed of has still not manifested.
