On dating somewhat decent white guys ~ he’s not going to be perfect but he might be wonderful, maybe

i wrote this about a white cis dude ex-partner (half-white anglo, half-serbian). it was a complicated and stormy relationship. it was also lovely and romantic and memorable. it changed my life. it’s also over.

these words might apply to your situation but also they might not. abuse is real & the words above don’t apply to people in a situation where they are, or have been, consistently harmed. if you or someone you care about is in an abusive relationship, please know you’re not alone. there are some resources out there that can help. i’m not an expert but some starting points are:

elizabeth morgan house - culturally safe resources for Aboriginal women

white ribbon helpline links - 1800 RESPECT phone line, beyond blue, lifeline, mensline & other links

rainbow door - free LBGTQIA+ resource for people confronting family violence
